Model Legislation

Some States have found value in considering integrated legislation that addresses national implementation of both an arms control treaty and of other treaties, notably environmental treaties. An example of integrated legislation has been developed for the national implementation of the Chemical Weapons Convention and of other treaties relating to chemicals. This is the Model Act developed jointly by the Secretariat of the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States and the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons. Another example is the African Model Law on Access to Biological Resources.
